Syntegra Consulting Ltd have been appointed as energy consultants to produce an energy strategy for the scheme at 53 Alexandra Grove, London, N12 8HE– to support the scheme design process, demonstrate Building regulations Part L1A compliance, to demonstrate consideration to achieve a 20% CO2 emission reduction against the CIBSE standard case model via renewable technology, along with intent to deliver a target code level 3 (Code for Sustainable Homes- in accordance with the local authority planning policy targets).
The proposed development will entail the demolition of the existing 2-storey house and the erection of a building to provide 7 self contained flats with ancillary parking and amenity areas.
Syntegra Consulting will be involved in providing the following services:
- Justification calculations and overview detailing what LZC and renewable have been reviewed for the both scheme(s) and how the Barnet energy and Sustainability UDP Planning conditions will be met in terms of renewable/LZC and building services design, along with the following sections:
- 7No. x Code for sustainable homes level 3/4 pre-assessments based on proposed scheme. The report will be written so that credits can be awarded for ENE7 of the CSH assessment.
- Demonstrating a minimum <25% DER/TER CO2 emissions reduction for all units (to comply with the code level 3/4 design target) and BRUK-L1A compliance.
- Sustainability and Energy Statement demonstrating that the applications include the consideration of all renewable energy technology / energy efficient measures, details what is proposed and, where these are not proposed and where these are not proposed, why these have been discounted as inappropriate / unfeasible.
- SAP assessment compliance checks based on proposed scheme U-values and other services based design recommendations/assumptions. A series of SAP assessments will need to be run to assist in the evaluation overview justifying building regs compliance.
- Justification of the use of onsite renewable energy generation to reduce the carbon emissions by 20% against the CIBSE standard case subject in accordance to the Barnet planning.
