Building Project: Print Works House, 83 Great Titchfield Street

Syntegra worked on the Award-winning retrofit development of Print Works House in Great Titchfield Street in Fitzrovia, London, providing advice on issues of mechanical and electrical design, acoustics, energy and sustainability ahead of the planning application submission.

The architect for the project was HÛT, an award-winning practice based in Shoreditch, London, specialising in the design of places to live and places to work, many schemes combining both areas of expertise in urban re-invention projects.

HÛT is actively involved with the RIBA, championing better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture.

The project consisted of converting and extending a 6 storey office building in Fitzrovia, London into 3 new luxury flats and 5,500 square feet of modern commercial space. The flats were constructed to a high quality and included several interesting design features including brick feature walls, 3m high Selo sliding doors, bespoke metal floors, entrance portal and staircase and bespoke joinery items such as wardrobes, entrance doors, shelving and vanity units. The commercial space was later fitted out to create a specialist gym/wellbeing centre.

Syntegra was also involved with processing BREEAM assessment consultancy work.

The development won the AJ Retrofit Awards 2017 (<£5m category), organised by The Architects’ Journal, recognising and celebrating design, engineering and construction excellence that prolongs and improves the life of the built environment.
