- Flood risk assessment
- Location: Weymouth, Dorset
A Syntegra team has conducted a flood risk assessment as part of ambitious plans to regenerate the landmark Weymouth Peninsula site.
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council has backed proposals for a £14m scheme to make the Dorset coastal town more of a year-round attraction.
Initial plans include a 100-room hotel, a pub/diner with rooms and walkway around the iconic site, along repairs to harbour walls.
All-weather, year-round leisure attractions, marine facilities and restaurants are proposed in the next stage of development.
Our consultants undertook the flood risk assessment on behalf of the development and planning agents, Cushman & Wakefield.
Alan King, managing director of Syntegra, said: ‘We were very happy to be chosen to conduct the flood risk assessment for such a high profile redevelopment programme.
‘Clearly any plans for work on coastal sites has to be scrutinised carefully in relation to alleviating potential flood risks and our expertise was used effectively in this case to help developers draw up a viable package for their planning application.’
