Syntegra Consulting Ltd have been appointed as daylight modelling consultants for a proposed scheme on Barking Road, London. Currently there is an existing industrial garage/workshop site, and the future project is to develop a mixed-use comprising two retail units at ground floor level, 18 one-bedroom flats and 4 two-bedroom flats divided in two three-story buildings and one four-story building.

The study has been undertaken by constructing a 3D IES model of the existing and the proposed site, as well as the surrounding buildings in order to analyse the daylight, sunlight and overshadowing impact of the new development on the affected buildings. The assessment is undertaken in accordance with “BRE 209 Digest: Site Layout Planning For Daylight and Sunlight – A Guide to Good Practice”.
