For Which Types of Buildings Do We Provide TM44 Inspections?
At The Syntegra Group, our TM44 air conditioning inspectors can undertake a TM44 inspection for all types of properties across the UK.
- Article 9 of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires that all air-conditioning systems with an effective rated output of more than 12kW must be regularly inspected by an TM44 Air conditioning inspector every 5 years, since the 4th January 2011.
- Since 6th April 2012, all TM44 Air Conditioning Inspection (ACI) reports and certificates must be produced via CLG software report production tool for mandatory lodgment on the Government Landmark Database. The TM44 ACI report and certificate will not be valid if they are not lodged. System owners of more than 12kW installed rated cooling capacity should act now, otherwise you are liable for a financial penalty.
- TM44 ACI reports and certificates must be submitted for Health & Safety audits as part of the legal documentation that demonstrates compliance.
- The TM44 ACI is designed to improve efficiency and reduce electricity consumption, operating costs, and carbon emissions. ACI assessments highlight improvements to the operation of the existing installations as well as opportunities to improve or replace older, less efficient and possibly oversized systems with new energy efficient systems.
- AC energy efficiency may be improved by alternative solutions to strategy, maintenance regimes and air-conditioning technologies.
- Non-compliance with TM44 ACI legislation will result in a penalty. This is in addition to the cost of a compliant TM44 ACI report.
