The short list of 19 buildings and public spaces nominated for the 2012 Hackney Design Awards has been unveiled and people are now being invited to vote for their favourite scheme. The schemes have been selected for their innovative design and contribution to the surrounding area. Syntegra Consulting have seen one of its projects 2 Ada Street, London E8 shortlisted for this award. Syntegra were appointed MEP design consultants to provide outline design, SAP assessments, EPCs and building Regs Part L compliance reports for a mixed use development consisting of 6 residential flats and 2 commercial units in Hackney, London.
The development which receives the most public votes will be announced as the People’s Choice award winner at a ceremony on 22 November. A panel of judges (experts in development and building environment, including award-winning architects, and a development expert from English Heritage) will also select other award winners.
Mayor of Hackney Jules Pipe said “We are committed to encouraging excellence in all development to ensure that buildings and public spaces throughout the borough meet our aspirations to improve the lives of everyone in Hackney”.“This is why for this award we want to hear from our residents and visitors to the borough, which of the short listed developments had the most positive impact on them”.
This is the fifth Hackney Design Awards, organised by the Council every two years to celebrate great design and architecture in the borough.
