Like many companies, we invest in marketing ourselves as a fun, productive make-a-difference type of place to work.
We can tell you all the corporate messages we like to think attract the right calibre of candidate to apply to work with us when we are recruiting.
But actually, what better way to find out what life’s really like working for Syntegra than talking to some of our current team?
‘We asked three of them a series of questions aimed at encouraging them to open up honestly about their working life to try and give prospective colleagues a flavour of a day in the life of Syntegra,’ said Emily Snape, HR Executive.
‘Some of the key themes appeared to be no two days are the same due to the range of responsibilities, there are opportunities for growth and it’s an innovative, fun place to work with a positive culture.
‘We echo all of that and are delighted that’s their view of us.
‘We hope you take all their comments (below) on board and consider a role with us. If you’re hardworking, eager to learn and share ideas and knowledge to benefit clients and the world at large, and want variety in your day to day activities, then Syntegra and you might be a good match.’

Ecology assistant, Veerle:
• What is your role?
I work as an ecological assistant, under Trish Holden. I assist her in her daily duties and I undertake some of my own tasks. My main aim is to unburden Trish with some of her workload and to be an effective team member of Syntegra’s team.

I love the flexibility and that every day is different. I love to go out on field surveys and absorb as much knowledge as possible, I learn every day and Trish is a very good conveyor of knowledge.
• What opportunities do you see for yourself/the company on the horizon?
I hope to have proven my value to the company and my eagerness to learn. Maybe get hired after I graduate?
• Outline some of your tasks on a day to day/month to month basis
A description day to day is not possible due to the every changing nature of the job, however monthly: I write quotes, go on different site visits, write various reports, contact clients, schedule visits, manage emails and of course another task is to learn something new each day.

Hardworking, open and kind
• What attracted you to join the company in the first place?
The experience most the colleagues have, mostly Trish.

Developing a larger air quality team and growing this service area.
• Outline some of your tasks on a day to day/month to month basis
