Non-compliance with the FSO may invalidate your building insurance. The fire safety officer will expect to see a copy of your Fire Risk Assessment upon audit. Failure to comply with any requirement of the FSO could result in an enforcement notice being served, personal prosecution of the responsible person or even imprisonment.
What is the penalty for not having a HIP?
Non-compliance with HIP legislation will result in a fine of £200. This is in addition to the cost of a complaint HIP.
