ISO 14001 is an internationally accepted standard which describes how an effective Environment Management System (EMS) could be put. It reveals the balance between maintaining profitability and reducing environmental impact and helps you to achieve both objectives.

In ISO 14001, it comprises general requirement, environment policy, planning implementation and operation, checking and corrective action and management review. These environmental laws could let you understand what are relevant to your situation.

There are two general kinds of ISO 14001 audits: internal and external. The internal ISO 14001 audit is an audit who has achieved the requirement of element 4.5.5 of ISO 14001. An external audit is an audit conducted for the purposed of ISO 14001 certification and completed by an Accredited Certification Body.
