Our consultants were delighted to work alongside architects Willingale Associates to successfully integrate a modern sustainable development into the grounds of an historic residential setting.
The design of three new homes under a green roof in gardens behind listed London houses dating back to the mid-19th Century captured the imagination of planners at Islington Borough Council when it was submitted in 2015.
Syntegra provided support at the design stage on the M&E, below ground drainage, SAP, Water Part G, acoustic and sustainability consultancy.
The scheme was approved with the design team describing the project as ‘beneath the low-profile green roof, maintains a sense of the open space of the rear gardens to avoid significant impact on the amenity, character and appearance, biodiversity, ecological connectivity, cooling effect and/or flood alleviation of the existing site’.
