Moorfields Eye Hospital is a specialist NHS eye hospital in London, England run by Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in association with the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology. The hospital is the oldest and largest centre for ophthalmic treatment, teaching and research in Europe.
Our team were asked to provide detailed Daylight Modelling reports for the hospital during the planning stage of it’s redevelopment. This involved assessment of factors relevant to BRE 209, as well as the production of a BRE 209 report focused on the local authority’s specific areas of concern.
To do this, our team produced a three dimensional CAD models of both the existing site and the proposed development which, when combined with a series of measured site visits, allowed us to identify specific issues through overshadowing analysis, daylight analysis and luminescence analysis.
